Ziad K. Abdelnour, founder of Blackhawk Partners, Inc. is a trusted partner to DPG investments. DPG in conjunction with Blackhawk partnership specifically focuses on management led and leveraged buyouts, private equity transactions, and targeted alternative investments across all sectors. Mr. Abdelnour’s experience and reputation remains valuable to DPG, while allowing DPG to expand its East Coast global markets presence with Blackhawk Partners.

Mr. Abdelnour is a dealmaker, trader and financier with over 25 year experience in merchant banking, private equity, alternative investments and physical commodities trading. Since 1985, Mr. Abdelnour has been involved in over 125 transactions in the investment banking, high yield bond and distressed debt markets and has been widely recognized for playing an integral role in those three key market sectors.

Before founding Blackhawk Partners, Inc., a New York based private equity ”family office” that focuses on originating, structuring and acting as equity investor in management-led buyouts, strategic minority equity investments, equity private placements, consolidations, buildups, and growth capital financings, Mr. Abdelnour held numerous senior positions at European American Advisors; Inc.,; THCG Inc .(formerly Hambro America Securities); Ladenburg Thalmann and Drexel Burnham Lambert’s High Yield Bond Department where his responsibilities included investing, financing and restructuring over 100 companies spanning the industrial, logistics, consumer and manufacturing industries both in the US as well as in emerging markets.

Mr. Abdelnour has extensive connections with the Washington political, government and intelligence establishments having served since 1994 as a friend and advisor to a number of agencies and organizations associated with such entities in various capacities; especially when dealing with fiscal and foreign policy matters.

On a more personal level, Mr. Abdelnour is Founder and President of the United States Committee for a Free Lebanon (USCFL), Founder and Chairman of the Financial Policy Council, Member of the Board of Governors of the Middle East Forum and Former President of the Arab Bankers Association of North America.

Mr. Abdelnour enjoys an American and Lebanese dual citizenship and holds an MBA in financial engineering from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Economics, Summa Cum Laude, from the American University of Beirut . He is also a regular panelist and speaker on private equity and venture capital topics at industry conferences.

A.C. Green

Mr. Green serves as an advisor and partner to DPG Investments. In his professional career, Mr. A.C. Green spent 16 seasons in the NBA, and won three champions with the Los Angeles Lakers spanning three decades (in 1987, 1988, and 2000), beginning with teammates such as Showtimes' Magic Johnson, Coach Pat Riley, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and James Worthy, and ending with Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Robert Horry, Derek Fisher, and Coach Phil Jackson. A.C. is the only player in Laker history to win a championship in the "Fabulous" Forum and Staples Center. A.C. also played with Charles Barkley and the Phoenix Suns, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks, and Alonzo Mourning's Miami Heat. A.C. is known as the NBA's Iron Man, having played in 1,192 straight games (surpassing Randy Smith's 907 consecutive games played on November 20, 1997). A.C. was the Lakers' first-round selection in the 1985 college draft, 23rd selection overall. He became the first Lakers' rookie since LeRoy Ellis in the 1962-63 season to appear in every game. He was selected by NBA coaches to the league's all defensive second team in 1988-89, and was voted by his fans as a starter for the 1990 NBA All-Star Game. A.C. recorded a career high 35 points on January 15, 1994.

Mr. Green attended Oregon State, and graduated with a degree in Speech Communication. During college, A.C. was a third-team All-American as a senior, and the 1984 PAC-10 Player of the Year. He led the Oregon State Beavers to the NCAA tournament three times, their most success coming during their 1982 "Elite Eight" appearance where they unfortunately lost to Patrick Ewing's Georgetown Hoyas.

A.C. remains actively involved in the community and humanitarian efforts. Outside of basketball, A.C.'s heart is dedicated to working with youth. Because of his love for young people, A.C. established the A.C. Green Youth Foundation in 1989, with the main focus on sexual abstinence education. Through his "I've Got the Power" and "Game Plan" abstinence curriculum, videos, leadership camps, and web site, A.C.'s mission is to help young people build self-esteem and character, and learn moral and ethical principles which will help them make responsible decisions.

A.C. is a youth mentor, author, speaker, and successful businessman. His business interests have included ownership of numerous Denny's Restaurants and a Hyundai dealership, as well as various entrepreneurial pursuits. A.C. is also in demand as a business consultant and lecturer. A.C. is a role model that youth across America can respect, and for this he was recognized in the House of Representatives' Congressional Record of October 26, 1999 and by President George Bush when A.C. attended a ceremony in the Oval Room during Black History Month in 2006. In the course of his business ventures and community service, A.C. has made speaking appearances across the world, in countries such as China, India, Mexico, Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines. He has also appeared on television and radio programs throughout the country, including Oprah, The Today Show, Good Morning America, 20/20, Rush Limbaugh, Donahue, The Montel Williams Show, and The O'Reilly Factor.

Tom Gurney

Thomas Gurney brings over 20 years’ experience in Real Estate Fund Management and Capital Markets with over $4 billion in direct investments across all asset classes. Mr. Gurney’s guidance and current position at Contrarian Capital Management facilitate DPG’s quick execution capabilities for note acquisition and recapitalization opportunities for assets under significant distress.

Currently Mr. Gurney is the exclusive advisor to the Contrarian Capital Management, LLC group of real estate funds. With over $4.0 billion under management, Contrarian Capital Management, LLC specializes in distressed debt situations globally. His role involves the origination, underwriting and structuring of complex debt acquisitions in North and South America. He is active in all asset management and fund raising activities.

Prior to Contrarian Mr. Gurney was as a partner at Windmill Management in Greenwich, CT, the management company of a $1.3 billion credit opportunity investment fund with significant commercial, single family and multi-family residential holdings, including master planned developments. His responsibilities included managing a team of 22 professionals across the following functions: underwriting, portfolio management, treasury, investor relations, fund administration and financial reporting. He was actively involved in establishing and managing four credit facilities which ranged from $30 million to $450 million. As head of Real Estate,he was accountable for origination and asset management of real estate, distressed debt and other structured products for the fund. Mr. Gurney playeda key role in fund-raisingasone of four partners. He also served as a board member for various investments, and served on the Firm’s Credit and Compliance Committees. He oversaw efforts in the US, Canada, South America and the Caribbean for the development and execution of strategies for the acquisition, tenanting, disposition and financing of properties and projects.

In addition, he has formal credit training and extensive expertise in real estate appraisal and valuation, structured finance and fund management. Prior to Windmill, he served as Senior Vice President, Structured Finance and Mezzanine Investments at Stonehenge Partners, and is a co-founder of Stonehenge Capital (a co-investment vehicle with Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDP)), where he established a mezzanine debt fund. Before his time at Stonehenge, he served as Partner and Senior Vice President at Arbor National Mortgage, where he was responsible for more than $1.8 billion in structured transactions.

Mark A. Smith

Mr. Smith serves as an advisor and partner to DPG Investments, whereby DPG is an investor and member in GrandRock Capital. He has over 22 years experience in investment banking, asset management, hedge funds and capital markets. Mr. Smith current clients include some of the top hedge fund, multi-strategy fund of funds and private equity managers in the business while its investor base includes institutions and family offices from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the US.

Mark is the founder of GrandRock Capital, a boutique investment banking firm that provides corporate financial advisory services for a variety of middle market companies across a broad spectrum of industries and also serves as a fund placement agent for private equity, venture capital, real estate and hedge fund managers. Prior to founding GrandRock Capital, Mr. Smith served as Director of Marketing for Ares Management www.aresmgmt.com, a $20 billion private equity and high yield asset manager located in Los Angeles; and was the founding partner and CEO of ING Capital Advisors for over 8 years, where he helped build and manage a 65 person, $7 billion asset management business focused on the US and European high yield leveraged finance market. Additional experiences include: investment banking and corporate finance with Citicorp Securities; portfolio management at AIG-Sun America; and a European Investment Banking position for two years with Bankers Trust in London.

Mr. Smith received his Masters of Finance from the University of Baltimore and his BS in Business Administration at Salisbury University in Maryland.
